Nature inspired form drove the concepts for this outdoor play area and site design. Native prairie, pine groves and wetlands are some of the components that make up the elementary schools new outdoor learning areas. Considering the needs of younger children was challenging but achievable by shifting away from a traditional playground setting. A naturalistic play area allows for children to stretch their creativity to new lengths. Sensory gardens and an arrival courtyard provide extensions of indoor use into outdoor garden rooms.
